Cape May County Museum

Is there an admission for the museum?

No, the museum is free, although donations are appreciated.

What are the museum hours?

The museum hours change seasonally.  Please check the Museum Hours of Operation for the current hours.

Are pictures allowed?

You may take pictures outside, however, because the light from the flash can damage the collection over time, we do not allow any pictures inside the museum.

Do you have group tours?

We do have group tours.  For information on group tours, please email us at museum@co.cape-may.nj.us or call our group tour coordinator Sonia Forry at 609.465.3535. 

Are there activities or things of interest for children?

Our museum tour is a guided tour and our guides will tailor the tour for the age group of our visitors.  There are items in our collection that are of interest to children, such as our antique toy room. 

Plus we have special programs throughout the year planed specifically for children, browse our Calendar Of Events and look at our.
                       " Jump Into History Children’s Programs "

Where are you located?

We are located at 504 Route 9 North, Cape May Court House, NJ, ½ mile north of Cape Regional Medical Center and ¼ mile south of the Cape May County Park and Zoo.

Are there any special rules I should know about?

Yes, there are.  We ask that you please . . . .

• don’t touch any exhibits unless the guide gives you permission to do so. 
   

• Backpacks and bags larger than 8” x 10” are not permitted.
   

• We ask that you turn off the ringer on your cell phone.
   

• An adult must accompany children under 14

Is the Museum Handicap accessible?

Most of the museum is handicapped accessible.  The rooms that are not have pictorial guides that can be used instead.
