For nine decades The Cape May County Historical & Genealogical Society has followed its mission of “Bringing the past to future generations through our shared Cape May County history.” Our ongoing challenge is to muster the resources to extend this strong history into the future.
The Society offers a number of options for you to support our long term goals of making Cape May County history available for future generations.
Outright Donations can be cash, appreciated assets like stocks, bonds and in some cases, real estate. These are typically tax deductible and often provide significant year-end tax advantages to the donor.
Retirement Plan Assets such as IRA arrangements can be gifted in whole or in part by simply naming the Society as a beneficiary. This can also be especially useful on an annual basis for those over 70 ½ who are required to make annual “mandatory required distributions” from their traditional IRA accounts. By gifting those funds you may be able to offset a portion of your tax burden.
Life Insurance policies provide a known annual cost to the donor while not jeopardizing their day-to-day financial planning. These gifts can easily be set up by simply managing the policy beneficiary.
Bequests are easily managed through your will and, like life insurance, do not impact your day-to-day finances. Consult your financial or legal advisor for help.
We encourage you to be a part of this enduring legacy by considering an outright donation or a longer term gift insuring growth and access to this wonderful facility for future generations.
